gravel cleaning question

this question is for those with heavily planted tanks. i was wondering, how do u guys gravel vac the floor if there's tons of plants in the way? or do u guys not even bother sticking the gravel vac to the bottom and just suck up from the water column instead?

dont bother with it. just go over the top of the gravel where i can kicking up the dirt and sucking it up.

I've been curious about this too. Currently, I tap it lightly to the gravel's surface, taking up just a bit of the mulm without disturbing the plants. Is more thorough cleaning necessary or is this sufficient?

Just skim along whatever surface area you can.

I kinda push my plants around as much as I can. I try not to move the root systems.

I just planted micro sword. I tried not to beat it up yesterday.

I think move the plants you can, but don't touch the sensitive ones.
