I had read that before you put gravel into a tank you should rinse it with warm water until you get all the dust, etc. off. I bought a bag last night as I need about an inch more and the bag says to soak in COLD water....I rinsed the gravel in a bucket three times last night and left it soak over night in cold water. Is it bad to use hot water? or should I rinse again using hot water before I add it to the tank?

I don't think it makes any difference whatsoever. I use warm water just b/c I don't like sticking my hands in cold water, especially during winter time.

I don't really think it will matter.

Just make sure its dechlorinated water if you ever need to put it quickly into a tank.

Thanks, Swishing 25 lbs of gravel in cold water was not my definition of fun  I was just doing what I though was right. I will rinse it a few more times tonight with hot water until all water is clear in the bucket.

My bleeding hearts are doing great BTW. :)
