I will be settng up my 55 gallon planted soon and have a question about my substrate.

I'm going to use eco-complete and some sort of gravel mix.

When I do my water changes I always vaccum the gravel but by vaccuming the eco-complete will I be removing minerals and nutrients that my plants need?

I will also have about 7 clown loaches in this tank so they will be rooting through the substrate as well.

Thank you for your time.

Planted tanks require much less gravel vaccing than non-planted tanks.
Most siphoning should be on the light side. Just getting up mulm that accumulates over time, and decaying leaves, etc.
Many people go for months between gravel vacs.
