Not sure if this is the right format but hey this stuff is free! For all members in the Phila.PA area there's a large supply of nice gray slate free for the taking just outside of Ambler. Between Ambler proper and Morris Rd. there's a small creek with a bridge crossing it. On the east side the area around the bridge is scattered with pieces of gray slate that someone dumped there. The pieces are very flat with nicely fractured edges. Some are essentially cubes. To give you an idea what it looks like think about the rocky oiutcroppings along the Schuykill Expwy. Pieces range from little flakes to pieces you'll need a backhoe to get out. I'll get some pics of the pieces I have up later. One word of warning! There's only just enough room right at the site to pull a car off the road. If you go be smart and careful!
