Tank is looking awesome. I didn't realize that you could have fish without a skimmer. Makes me want to consider moving the aquapod into a 30.
Thanks wizard. I've seen a lot of FO tanks with no skimmer. Fish are more tolerable of fluctuations in water quality than most corals. Yes it can be done but if you own a skimmer, you should use it (I would).
Maintenance on this tank is a 10 gallon water change each week (including vacuuming the sand bed), replace filter floss, wipe down glass. Every once in a while I take off the HOB filter and completely clean it and run the PHs through vinegar/water solution. I do not dose anything and feed once a day.

The only thing we are lacking are the power heads and the light fixture.
We don't have a skimmer but if I can get by with water changes then that isn't a problem. the 12 pod limits you tremendously for aqua scaping and I would love to do a nicer reef than what the nano offers for options. I have never had an open top tank before but as long as I don't add any jumpers it should work fine.
