My green barb is tormenting the other tiger barbs, i have a school of 6, 4 tigers and 2 green. the one that is beating everyone up is the bigest. at first they looked very nice swimming together, it gave my tank a good look, not boring, fish moving and so fourth. but now the tigers are hiding behind my filter not coming out, only to run from the green guy that will come in to the corner and chace them.

is he to big for the rest of them?
he's about 2" but ther others are so small. ranging from 1" to 1 1/2.

How big is your tank? Are there any rocks, plants, etc.? Any other fish in the tank?

I kinda had the same problem with my Tiger Barbs except it was a smaller albino one that was chasing the bigger ones! This went on for like a week then they just kinda all started to get along. I only have 4 now ( one died) but my main plan is to have a shoal of 7. I must also mention that the aggresive behavior would be way toned down when I turned the light off in my tank. I also read somewhere that they need to be kept well fed to control the nippy behavior.

is a 29g planted tank, with rocks and hiding places.

i have..
6 barbs
2 goumies (spelling)
1 red tail shark (young)
1 albino rainbow shark (medium)
6 mystery snails
1 oto
1 stingray pleco (young)

you might want to add a few more green tigers, they tend not to nip at other species when they are ina larger school

yeah, I currently have a 29 gallon tank with 3 t-barbs and 2 green t-barbs with others and there doing fine the green ones are about 1 and a 1/2'' and the regular ones about 1''
