hey there, just found some green bubble things on my rock i pulled rock out and they come off, kinda firm and fluid filled, i assume alges, are they bad or indifferent? i have hermits and an emerald crab, do they eat it? or do i have to pick them off?
took some off but most too tiny yet to grab with out breaking bubble...
please advise..

They are called Valonia or "bubble algae." Under lower nutrient concentrations, they are fine, but they can spread like the plague otherwise. Carefully remove them by twisting at the base. If you burst the vesicle, you will release algal spores into the water, allowing them to reproduce.

I believe that if you harvest them like Amp says, then introduce the crabs they get them when they are small and are grooming the rock. When the Valonia get larger the crabs (in my experience) seem to leave them alone and you then have to intervene.

There has never been any proof that a burst bubble algae spreads spores.

ok...this thingy was spotted before then disapeared.
and has now reappeared with a few friends what is it? it loos like a snail without a shell it moves like one

and the little specks on my glas i used a jewlers loop to check them out started as egs mass with about3-4 eggs in it i thought it was snail but they hatched out to be little tiny lobster tingys, with legs 6 on each side and taill feelers same sizes as legs and one when i looked flashed out claws like a lobster and curled them back in but they eat algea on glass etc, cause some were green what are they?
