Green corydora??

So, I just bought a school of corydoras ... they were titled green corydoras, I think, though I've never heard of the "green corydora" - I did research, and didn't come up with much, but bought them anyhow, figuring they required the same conditions as most corydoras - anyhow, they look a lot like the bronze cory cat - c. aeneus... though I'm almost certain they aren't, there isn't as much of a bronze/emerald sheen going on... The internet revealed that there is something called the green corydora but I'm wondering, since there is very little information, if they are corydoras easily mislabeled and mixed up with other species. Anyone have any idea? I'll try to get a picture of them later to post but any info is welcome , thanks in advance.

'greens' and bronzes are one in the same. I have four in my tank.

There are green cories... try googling emerald corydoras. It's got the same greenish shine as the bronze cory without the dull grey/brown under shades. I can't tell a difference in them otherwise. I'm told they're not as hardy... but in this hobby you have to believe none of what you hear and about half of what you see anymore, right?

But I thought emeralds weren't really corys (?) I'm come across sites suggesting that 'green' is simply another name for bronze. I've compared my own fish to pics of bronze corys, as well as had fs employees tell me that they are the same fish. That, and emeralds are not commonly found in most pet stores.

Emerald cories are actually Brochis splendens. There is only a slight different in them and cories such as C. aeneus, but they aren't considered cories.

I have seen both Brochis splendens and Corydoras aeneus sold under the label "emerald green cory" (and together in the same tank no less). Google pictures of each to see the differences and figure out what you have. The main thing to look for is that Brochis splendens have 10+ dorsal rays and the true cory should have only 7-8 dorsal rays.

Thanks a lot for all of the input. I really think they are the bronze.. personally.. I found a few pictures that look just like them and they have 8 dorsal rays.. I guess I could be wrong, but either way, they should be enjoyable
