Terrific TTA! Loving those green eggs! Is this their first batch?

There are 4 fish in a 20 gal. where I had them parked to grow out. Initially I got 5 early last December but had lost one since. I had no clue as to how mature they were or even if they would spawn. I will confess to getting them because as S leightoni they were named after me- now it turns out they may have been misidentified. The fish came in from Europe and were listed as F1.

At any rate this was their first spawn and a total surprise. The water params are pH 7.2-7.4, gh 6dg and kh 5 dg. I don't know the TDS and the temps have been held at about 78. Their diet was similar to what one feeds bn or other veggie eating plecos.

The following day the eggs had vanished and the fish were also not to be seen. Either they moved the eggs back to a good shelter and are parenting or else they ate them and the eggs are gone. Only time will tell. In either case would hope like many Loricariidae that once they start to spawn, they will continue to do so.

That is really cool! I hope they did move the eggs and you will have some babies soon as those are very interesting fish. Finding the trigger for the spawn would be great too!

Congrats TTA! Hoping you have lots of baby whatzits soon.
