Green flower pot coral?

AWESOME FISH!!! I love the colors. I know thats not yours, but still, awesome fish.

Really cool you brought the flowerpot to your LFS and it left a baby behind. Maybe it will grow, but if not, no biggie. I agree with the rest about the flowerpot and I have never been brave enough to try a flowerpot because I have never heard of anyone having any success with them. Way to fragile for my taste.

Don't beat your head too much Annette, all of us have regretted more than one thing we've done in the hobby.

Amen to that.. I can't tell you how much $ I have lost because I bought a coral that I didn't research first and found out after the fact my tank was not the correct conditions for that coral. This may be your first time doing it, but I have a problem with impusle buying nice looking corals, and have bought the wrong corals for my tank at least a dozen times. Nice corals at a LFS are my one extreme weakness I admit. I can leave nice looking fish behind and come do research to make sure they will be ok, but when I find a great looking coral I am afraid I wont see it again so I have to buy it.. very wrong thing to do.

Ace, I'm the exact opposite of you. I *pretty* much know which fish are okay for my tank and which aren't, but if I come across a good one that I know I want, I have trouble passing it up for fear I won't see it again. But corals I have been pretty good about researching them and asking lots of questions before I buy them because I'm afraid to spend money on something so beautiful and then kill it, I just can't stand that. Yesterday, I made the exception on the flowerpot because I wasn't spending money. And honestly, it wasn't my tank that hurt it, it was me and my poor handling of it. :( It may not have lived a long time in my tank, but it looked good all the way through acclimating it, which I took like 4 hours. I should have figured out a good spot for it before I started messing with it. I'm not adding anything else for a good while, I need to start seeing some growth. I have that orange ric coming next week, that'll be the only new addition for at least a month or so. Cross my heart!

Well you will save a lot more money that way than I have.. fish are cheaper than corals, and most fish you can monitor for a few days to see if it will be ok, if not, bring them back. With corals, most LFS don't like taking them back, and even a day or 2 in the wrong condition tank can be deadly to a coral. Not to mention the placement problem like you experienced.. I have experienced that myself on many occasions.. corals falling, not placed correctly, etc. Moving the corals around usually does more harm than good as I have found out the hard way over the years. Leathers are especially fragile to being moved alot.
