Green Terrors don't seem to be growing

Are there any other fish that are sold as Green Terror's but really aren't? The reason I ask this is because my 'Green Terrors' haven't actually grown past the juvenille stage. The female is the same size she was 3 months ago and the male doesn't seem to be getting much bigger either. They have had 3 sets of babies since I've had them, which is over 9 months now. There is plenty of space in the tank and the water quality is excellent. Anyone have an answer?

If you're talking about the 20g in your sig, well that's not ample space for green terrors at all. A GT needs 55g at least, to grow to a decent size. Also, what are you feeding them? If you want to see noticeable growth, you'll need to "power feed" which is basically feeding a lot of foods high in protein. If you're only feeding flakes and frozen blood worms, or something like that, you're not feeding them an optimal diet.

There is a fish called a Blue Acara which closely resembles GT's. You'll have to look up the adult size on that fish since I'm not sure. I know they're not as aggressive as GT's though.

I agree he will probably be stunted in a 20gallon.

I had them both in the 120 gallon since they were babies, which was 9 months ago. I only took the female out 2 weeks ago and put her in the 20 gal because they were mating too much and the male GT wouldn't stop chasing her. I feed them live fish, flakes, beef heart, krill and pellets.

Are the Oscars and the channel cat, quite a bit larger than the GT's? If so, the GT's could possibly be feeling stressed, and that could've stunted them. Even though they've spawned quite a few times, they could still feel intimidated by larger fish.

Did you check to see if you have blue acaras? They max out at 8", whereas GT's can a little over 1'.

Are they getting enough food? Other than that I have no idea. How big are they anyways? Ammonia? that is not alot of filtration for what you have in your sig. One aquaclear 300 can't handle my fishload by itself. You have 3 times as much fish as me, and they all produce a ton of waste

I have two 300's on the 120 Gallon. As for the food, they are absolutely voracious when it comes to eating, although the Pacu's gooble up more than anyone. The GT's are about 3.5 inches long.
 
Im in the same situation at the moment, my Sals and JD's that I bought at the same time have stopped growing at about 2" the idea was to buy more than I wanted grow them out and strip back their numbers then but I have had them since about Oct of last year! dont really know how to combat this, perhaps I should reduce there numbers now and try more of a power diet?
