I currently own a breeding pair of green texas cichlids. I have had a successful breeding the fry were free swimming but i moved them into a larger tank parents and fry. Well the parents ate the fry. They had spawned again for me in the larger tank. Im not sure what happened but the male started to get really agressive towards the female he beat her up pretty bad so i had to move her. So when i moved her to a different tank she got pretty bad where the male had removed her scales and her fins all got fungus. I treated her with malachite green she got better. I wanted to put them back together but i was afraid to move her back in with the male so i bought a divider and i moved the male in with her. I left the divider in for about 2 weeks and then i decided to remove the divider. They are both doing very well and have spawned for me again i will not make the mistake of moving both parents and fry together. I love these fish they are entertaining and are great parents. Anyone have any idea why the male behaved that way towards the female? I also have a pair of jd that are going to spawn for the first time.

congrats, i only have 1 texas, he is a quite outstanding fish :)
