hi everyone i have a green water aquarium problem

120liters 37 gallons

planted (one plant with some leaves)

12 hours per day of light

undergravel filter

once a week 30% water change

thanx in advance

Cut the light cycle down for a few days.....that will usually kill off green water.

When I had that problem I turned out the lights and covered the tank with paper to cut out all the light for a couple of days. It cleared up.

Korab:

Decrease your lighting duration to 10 hours/day.

Rinse your biological and mechanical filtration media thoroughly in WC water.

Do not feed for three days and subsequently reduce the quantity which you have been feeding.

Double dosing with Flourish for a week will expedite your relief from the green water.

If feasible adding more plants will help in future algae control.

If feasible adding more biological filtration media will help in future algae control.

I was able to deal with a serious green water incident as set forth above without "blacking out".
