Green water....

Yea, Joe just loved his bout with green water:D
Anyone that has a good round at it is often at wits end.

The NH4 levels were a dead give away you were doing the Fishless cycling.

Not something you want to add to a new plant tank with PC lighting!

See "the silent cycle"

I think Jared Weinburger(sp?) wrote it a few years back.

FYI, I did some algal culture work with Green water.

It will not bloom UNLESS I added NH4.

I could all the NO3 I wanted, no green water.

Actually, since I followed a basic rule mentioned here about first heavily planting the tank - I didn't have a green water problem. I did have a persistant "whitish" water problem. Not anymore... ;)

I've often wondered about that white water thing.
I've wondered if it's not just some green water gearing up or a bacteria. Never had it or seen it live to grab a sample.
Sorry, I thought you one of the many that got a nasty case of Green water that they tried everything else and finally got a UV.
There are many in that crowd.
I was jealous so I add NH4 to my tank
