Hi there,

I'm new here (obviously). Have set up my first tank just over a month ago, and just recently started adding fish to it.

Its a 20g tall planted tank. The lighting is low, just over 1 wpg. I have some DIY CO2 setup that I think is not enough because I'm starting to get some serious algae growth. Or maybe that is just part of the new tank? Just started dosing some dry ferts.

Plants (in addition to the algae) are mostly anubias with some HC that is maybe eventually going to carpet, some African water fern that looks like it has decided it will live, and some anacharis and Myriophyllum that are recovering from melting (oops).

Animal-y things include hitchhiker snails, 6 red cherry shrimps plus 5 shrimplets (yay!), 6 habrosus cory cats (cutest ever!) and 2 guppies plus 4 guplets because I failed to think about females being pregnant when I bought them :wall:

I post over on The Planted Tank forum, but this one looked friendly and different than there, so I decided to join...

welcome to AC! I would recommend making a thread in the planted tank section. Your plant choice is nice but they are not super high growing so it might be that you need to increase your lights or add some other stem plants to help balance out the needs int he tank. Best of luck and enjoy the community!
