Hi all! Just wanted to say hello to everyone out here. I'm currently in Iraq and will be home soon. I've been researching a lot in regards to setting up a planted tank. I've set up a 5gal with C02 system prior coming out here and have seen some updated photos that my wife sent me. The HC has grown to a thick mat and the dwarf hair grass has done the same.
I've been keeping a 55g Tropheus (sp Lupota) tank for 5 years now. After 4 deployments, it's obvious that my wife is now more interested taking better care for the planted tank. She claims that it looks nicer than a tank full of rocks. In my 5gal, I have some celestial pearl danios and some CRS.
So as a strategic move on my part, we've got our sights on converting the 55gal into a planted tank... with fish of course! I'm guessing it will be easier on making future purchases since she's enjoying the planted tank.
I'm still torn on what I'll be stocking it with. I know for sure that I'll be getting some Y. Sidthimunki but yet to decide on what else I'll be stocking it with. Researching/surfing the web is all I can do until I return home. Can't wait to get back!
