Grins' 55g Reef

That is the coolest crab ever...wow. The colors are amazing!
Wish I could help you on the name:D.

If you ever decide you want one and can't find them there, this guy ships. So far it isn't hiding at all and it's body will get about 2" So not huge but not so small that it would be completely lost in your tank perhaps.

That'd be a plus. I have had two sightings of my sally lightfoot in two months. I assume it's still in there somewhere....I think his buddy is toast.
Are they peaceful? I assume he wouldn't bother my peppermint shrimp since you have one too. I'll ask my LFS about one...very cool. If I strike out I'll have to PM you and get the details. I really can't get over the colors!
I've never fully understood the "blog" thing. Blogs kinda popped up and I never really tried to figure out what the hell they were. I guess I'm too old....

wow cool crab! i though porcelains were white..?

I talked to him about that, he said that the porcelains and the anemone crabs are closely related and the names are sometimes switched. But the anemone crab is the one with more white (what I had before) and they'll actually take an anemone as a host, it only gets to about 1.5".

Where the porcelain crabs start off like this as juveniles and the spots get more purplish./red as they mature, they don't take anemones as hosts and they get bigger. But they both have the claws more for looks and use the feathers to filter feed.

Yes, they don't hunt with their claws...they are filter feeders, that is what those feather fans are he is waving around. Believe me, I evicted my hermits a few months back....no opportunistic crabs are allowed in my tank. Your LFS should be able to order some in but let me know if you need a source.
