i am looking for a ground cover just wondering if anyone knows a good site so i can read up and decide which one i want.

any suggestions of what you think would be nice would also be great

thanks on advance for any info :)

BTW
2WPG
yes co2 injected
am putting in a few blue leds for night lights (as soon as they get here)

i think 2 wpg is too low for *most* ground covering plants
because theyre so far down at the bottom of the tank they need really strong lighting to reach them. also with only 2wpg you could get away with a DIY co2 / dont need a canister.

i have a 10k daylight with a blue white lunar light that i have set up on seperate timers, and the lunar comes on at night when the daylight shuts off. i like it a lot. it really does look like moonlight. i also notice my plants are doing amazing with the 10k daylight vs using something lower like 6500. they are bushy and growing fast as hell now.. course im also at 4 wpg and before i was only 2.

edit: you could try using java moss on the bottom maybe..
tie it down to some rocks or slate or even just let it free float, if its a big enough clump it will be heavy enough to sink ( i have that now for my shrimp and my darios love to swim through it and rest on/in it)

my tank is 19" in height and with 2wpg i could grow anything. i am currently around 1 wpg and need a tiny bit of co2 to keep things happy... very tiny bit!

here's a link you asked for soul... http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/myplants/

Google Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, it worked great for me at around 2wpg, there is also a debate on whether Glosso is high or low light.

ok well i can up my WPG to 4WPG the globes are in my light i just dont use them as i was scared or burning my other plants how would java fern amazon sword and anubias nana (however you spell it lol) go at 4WPG?

im HAVE 216 watts over both 55G.
4 T5 54watt Globes i just keep 2 turned off.
If i was to turn the other 2 on and ran say 3 or 4 WPG how do you think i would go?

Would it produce more or less algae?

also i have a 55G sump would i need more light on this to make it 4WPG (currently 2WPG) over all of my tanks or will just the 2 do?

OR would it be better to turn on all lights on my tank leave the sump and run about 3.5WPG?

If you look at my sig link you will see the light setup i have

Thanks for any advice :)

i have pressurize c02 already :) but i dont use ferts i have tried a couple times and all i got was a MASSIVE algae bloom my tank was covered in algae within a week after starting ferts.

I am still messing around with the c02 havent got it quite right yet but i will turn my lights on high tonight get my c02 right and see how the tank handles to the change for a week or so then i will take some readings and let you all know how it goes if it all turns out ok i will see about getting some ground cover.

have had a read about the plants i have looks like the amazon and java fern will be fine with the high light but i will have to put the anubias nana under the rocks as direct light will burn them but i cant see that being a problem as most of them are in the shade now anyway
