I think I know the answer to this but is a 265 gallon tank to small for a Bumble Bee grouper? I remember seeing someone say that they are one of the larger groupers, not like a blue line or blue spot, and need a huge tank because they can get a few feet long. Has anyone ever had one and can let me know.

thanks.

The Bumble Bee Grouper reaches somewhere between 6 feet and 9 feet in the wild, so IMHO, it is best left in the Ocean. They lose their beautiful color as a baby and turn mostly brown with greenish spots. Again, best left in the ocean imo!

That is what I thought about the size of the grouper. My LFS has one right now and gets them in some times. Just wanted to make sure. I just hope the right kind of person picks him up.. I can see it now. 'oh you have a 75 gallon tank... That is plenty big enough for him'... I think he was like $90 which from what i can tell online is a great bargain for someone... but then you need like a 10,000 gallon tank for something like that... I guess I can ask the wife if I can convert the basement into a tank like the guy over on Monsterfishkeepers... thanks again.
