Growing Riccia

Folks:

I guess that I am lost on this thread.

With 2WPG and ferts riccia will grow like weeds in a garden.

No need to be lost. I am NOT an aquarium guy, tried in the past and was not real successful. I am however a terrarium guy and am trying to grow riccia for terrestrial use. That being said, I tried it terrestrially first and it did not do well for me. Not wanting to give up, and not wanting to keep buying tiny little amounts for big $ I decided to try and grow some myself, in it's natural state, but again don't want to kill off the little bit I have left and am looking for advice on how to be most successful with it.

I took out all the riccia I had in my planted tank about 3 weeks ago and threw them in my big tank as free floater. It has almost doubled in size. I am only using a 24" stock fluorescent light running 12 hours a day. No co2. Just liquid ferts every few days. I do make sure that I have a lot of water surface moving. I now have enough to cover about the entire surface of a 10gal tank. I am hoping to cover at least half of a 6ft tank in a few months.
