I just wasted my AM fixing a situation where someone allegedly "acquired" my ebay pwd and put up 50 ipod auctions (that's ~$170 inlisting fees when you have several "add-ons" for each). I got it nipped in the bud after just 3 people did the "Buy it now" thing and tried to pay. The other 48 never got a bid on 'em.

Ebaylive was a good thing to do despite the 20min wait for a chat session. My seller acct. bal is now $0 again and I only got 1 email (so far) from an annoyed buyer. The thing is that I never give up my PWDs, I operate from behind a secure firewall running all sorts of anti-spy, anti-virus, anti-porn, anti-fun stuff at work... I'm therefore not certain that this won't happen again :(

I'm a little miffed atm.

I think it's under control but I have emails from 2 of the 3 people who did the "buy it now/paypal" combo before the fraud was uncovered. All I could tell 'em was "I don't have your money, talk to Ebay & Paypal about reversing the charges." I don't know if person #3 is asleep or is a little smarter about these things than the first 2 were. At least I caught it before I had 50 emails from people...
