GSP Sleeping on Bottom - Normal?

Believe it or not, they are not as slow-growing as many folks think. That is why I push for folks to house them in a tank which would at least met the minimum for an an adult fish from the beginning. Puffers, like Clown loaches, are very easily stunted.
I agree. Doing more research and considering looking for a new home for him. I have the space et al, but with all the other FW tanks I have I'm not sure I want to take on the addition of a SW tank.

Wow, what's up with mine? My Fig 8 needs to eat 5-10 to get that, and my GSP eats 10-15.
Kim,
Peabody is *very* small, probably around 1½", maybe smaller. As I said in another post, his color was a very sickly yellowy-brown when I brought him home and he didn't look much different than a full-grown Dwarf Puffer. In fact, I thought he WAS a DP, which is why I bought him in the first place.

Well, if I do decide to find a new home for him, he's far better off than he was at the LFS I got him from. He's healthy and growing and I can make sure whomever wants him has the right sized tank and knowledge to look after him.

The LFS has 1 left and last I saw him he had a horribly concave belly and was panting and gasping at the surface of the 2.5g tank they had him in.

Sand on the GSP belly

The first time I saw the black sand on Kermit's belly I panicked. Then the next day I found him asleep in a quiet spot. So cute.
