Guava Leave usage for aquarium

just curious if Guava leaves has any usage in fishkeeping

Because sometimes i notice that my tank outdooors sometimes has some guava leaves that get into my tank. Guava leaves here are used as antibiotics , to wash wounds. Could it also have use in our hobby?

anybody tried it.? Was thinking this might also work like melafix?

I haven't ever used guava leaves for fish but that makes 100% sense. I bet you could get some cool medicines made for the fish by smashing up the leave and put it into the filter but I'm not to sure!

thanks. I'll try to boil some leaves and see if feeders will survive when the tank is dosed with the guava leave extract .

You should go to the pet store find a fish or 2 that are in bad shape put in a small quartine tank and put the guava in the filter or whatever and see if they improve!

thanks. i'll try to conduct this experiment over the weekend. Will boild the leaves to get the extract and also get some feeders to experiment on

Didn't think of boiling but that would work the best I would believe. I would chop up the leaves a bunch and then put into the water and boil than get a strainer and pour the water into a glass or bowl or something and get the water into that than add that water into the tank. I would believe the boiling would remove clorine but i'm not sure so oyu may wanna de clorinise.
