Actually Steve, I was suprised at how LITTLE info is available!
Luckily, the guy at my LFS, was able to fill me in on most of the needed info :)

I pray I do allright by them, as now, I cannot imagine NOT having them around
 
Nice setup, although when I had my P. barbatus I had the tank filled up with about 4" of gap. More water = better. I'd try to make the structure a little higher to get more water volume in there, 3-4gal isn't really much at all, and your SG will probably be swinging all over the place with evaporation. I can't wait til I can get another one for my 75.

They do kinda look like floppy salamanders with fins. Whenever I have a spare 30 gallon tank, I think I'll get a pair of these guys.
