I have plants that grow on a piece of wood. the small ones go under and thru the plants . of course my guppy do not eat theres, nor do my platy. thats why I have 50 to give away all the time.
no I have not even thought of it but I will look into it. I don't think I will keep that many fry though, I have the tetras in the tank that should clean up the unwanted ones. One question, when I do get fry should I put them into a breeding net or cage?
Yep, that's the one. Petsmarts, Petcos, and local stores all carry that around here. Don't know about where you're at, though.Demodred do you have a link to the one you are thinking of. I would love to take a look at it. Is this it? http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/10983/product.web
exactly!! I woke to find around 30 guppy fry 2 weeks ago, I thought for sure they were food, but nope they all made it and I saw yesterday thers's new babies . I always have a constant ad on craigslist. my platy are the same way, oye way way to many and always giving away.I do not have personal guppy/livebearer fry experience but from what I have seen/read people assume the fry will be eaten and keep the numbers manageable but it does not really work out that way....the fry are pretty good at hiding and you may soon find yourself over run and overstocked wiht guppies. Best to have an alternate plan to re-home those youngins.
