Does anyone think that I could have guppies and a male betta fish in the same tank ?? It's a 10 gallon tank if that has anything to do with it... :o

They will be fine. If the guppies breed, the Betta might go after the babies to munch on, but I think you'll be ok in that size tank.

From my experience I would say no. I tried to put one in a 29 gallon community tank, and one of my guppies ended up dead. :sad (The betta I bought was in a tank with tetras and not bothering them.) Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I am not going to try it again. Again, this is just my experience.

I have a fairly large betta in with 4 neon tetras, 2 guppies, 1 bottom feeder that I dont know what the heck he is, 1 glolight tetra, 1..umm I think he is like a precilla tetra or something like that....and yeah that is it haha
anyways...he did follow the guppies around a bit...but doesn't seem to mind them anymore....
I am going to try it anyways.....for now...my betta has been in with them all day so far...I dont know if I am going to take him out when I go to bed or just leave him in there....I also have another betta but he likes to be alone lol

my betta was fine in my 10 gallon with my guppies then the light went out and 3 guppies got killed. bettas are got good with other fish. do not mix them.

I would say: BAD IDEA
Once I had 3 guppies in withmy betta..................all dead in less than 2 days!!!

I forgot something............
Like you saw all the bettas dont go along with guppies but some do.
It's a risc to take.

I saw a betta take a chunk out of a male guppy tale, and decided nope its not a good mix.

Right now I have 5 white clouds and betta splendedns. They have been together 2 days, and ignore each other. Betta gives chase every so often but can't catch them. I think danios (not long finned) barbs, and white clouds would (platy and swordtail as well) work best with ol meanie betta splendens.

well so far my betta and my guppies are getting along well..they dont even go near each other....on the other hand...I do have another betta and he doesn't like to be around ANY fish....he's quite fussy lol
I have 2 male guppies, a white cloud, a betta, 4 neon tetras, a percilla tetra ( i think that is what he is called) and a glolight tetra in my 10 gallon tank

I have a female betta in with a group of guppies, I think she likes them. She's a lot more active with them. The only time I see her get a little nippy is at feeding time.

Bettas go after the guppies because of there bright color Dont put guppies in with your betta they do not mix well.
