33 gallon Tank params: Ammonia-0, Nitrites-0, Nitrates-20 ppm, PH- steady 8.0, temp is 80 F constant. Water changes 30% weekly (never skip). The filter is unreliable, it's been stopping here and there all last week, I usually catch it right away though. The last few days it's been ok though. (New filter in the near future)
Stock at the beginning of the illness : 7 Kribensis fry (1/4-1/2" long), about 40 newborn guppy fry, 4 blue mystery snails, 1 yellow nose shrimp, and around 30 guppies of breeding age. Yes, overstocked I know, freaking guppies!! (insert irony here- just found a lfs to take the guppy overstock!)
1 week ago I added 1 female Betta to a little breeder net in the corner. She was in there overnight only until I could move her to her 5 gallon. I know, i know, but I didn't have a tank immediately available for her quarantine. My bad.
Fast forward a week... Some of the guppies have clamped fins, they are all flashing, all staying at the top of the tank, some are upright floating with their noses pointing to the top of the tank, and a few of the guppie have ragged tail fins, some are eating some aren't. The Krib fry...same thing except the fins are fine... None have lesions or outward signs of fungus. The betta in the 5 gallon is looking great. I would treat with salt but it's a no no with the snails. So I added Jungle's fungus clear last night, to both tanks. Some look better this morning but some don't. I have lost 9 guppies and 1 krib so far. (5 I found this morning)
Based on the description, do you think it's fingus, or something else. Those are all the symptoms, I left nothing out.
