I need help for tank suggestions!!!!

Guppies, Guppies. I had a suggestion. It was to keep females in one tank and males in the other. Then make a 3rd tank avalible for when i want to do breeding and/or use it for a Qtank or Mtank. I would like suggestions for tanks and tank setups!!! I already have a 20 gallon up and running and am thinking about keeping the males in there. I do not have the money to buy huge aquariums and hope to have to spend less then $100 if possible

Have you considered buying one of those breeder's nets for the fry? I've seen them for less than $5 each. If you could get a few of those to use as necessary, it may eliminate the need for a fry tank. They just clip on the side of the tank and the netting allows water to circulate.

Here is what i can tell you. Not too much though i have played with guppies on and off while in high school and now tring to catch up. It is nice to keep them seperated if you are tying to produce a certain strain or keep a current strain. I right now have a 55 gal tank for a main and i am using a small 2 gal tank for my fry i have four 5 week old mollies in there as well as six 2 week old guppies, plus one female that will drop this week. The tank came with an undergravel filter, pump hood ad light only cost me $20. I will seperate out my males and females as soon as i can tell and move to a 5 gal tank for each and use my little 2 gal for my fry for now (going to keep it on a small scale).

As for a strait out tank setup do a eclipse 5 of 10. I see them start as low as $35 for a 5. They are pretty ready to go a little salt and you have a guppy setting. They are hardy fish and can live tight if they have to (good idea for the fry for a few weeks).

Alot a rambling with the off tract there hope it helps some.

I taked to my dad last night and apaently i ain't allowed to get any more tanks!! So it sounds like a divider and a breeder net would be the way for me right???
 
Dividing the tank would be preferable to a breeder net, though it would be ok for a very short time. You shouldn't keep babies in one of those too long, they will not grow as well or as big.

You can divide your tank with commercial dividers, but they are too expensive for my liking. Plastic canvas works well (available in needle-work sections of craft stores or Wal-Mart and very cheap). There are 2 sizes of holes; get the one with itty bitty holes. Then, you can buy plastic moulding or those plastic report covers (with the triangle slide-on thingy). Use 2 of the triangles at the glass and slide the canvas into the grooves.

Of course, you will still be limited to the number of fry you can save and raise by the size of your tank.
