Just wondering... I'm getting a 10 around for yellow shrimp, and was wondering if guppies would bother the shrimp, particularly the shrimplets? Or what else I might put in there for some swimmers to create visual interest? I like the look of Gertrude's Rainbow, but can't find them locally. Would dwarf cichlids, like the Apisto Agassizzi be ok, or are they too opportunistic? Others?

Thanks!

I throw my female guppies in the shrimp tank (dense java moss, najas, and cabomba) to have their babies. They don't bother the adults, but I suspect they would eat babies. Putting any fish with dwarf shrimp will likely result in very, very few babies surviving to adulthood. Dwarf cichlids will eat the babies for sure and it's probably 50-50 whether they'll attack the adults.

I have a moderately planted twenty gal full of shrimp and guppies. If the guppies do eat the baby shrimp, it is not a significant amount. I do feed the guppies multiple times a day.

My guppies, even the guppy fry, eat the shrimp. I have an extremely heavily (overplanted) tank full of guppy grass and java moss. The guppies are just too inquisitive, and small enough to get into most crevices.

I had two or three shrimp fry live to adulthood in a 3 month period. I took the guppies out, and now my shrimp tank is full of hundreds and hundreds of shrimplets.

If you don't mind the babies getting eaten, I never had a guppy bother an adult shrimp. However, the shrimp got a little pale, since they were hiding more and feeling threatened.

One of my kids saw a guppy eating fry so they panicked and moved a couple of guppies to save the fry. Well the fry survived, but the shrimp that were in the second tank were not as fortunate. The guppies are now quite fat and I'm getting ready to buy some new shrimp.

We put 16 RCS with 3 albino cories & 80-100 guppy fries.
(It's a 20G. Medium planted. 78F, PH: 7.2, Water parameter: 0,0,10)

Our guppy fries vary from 3 weeks old to 3 months old. 3 months old juvenile are getting bigger. Should I consider relocate them to other tank to protect RCS? Well, I don't know what to do with all these guppies. All our friends who can raise fishes already got 20+ guppies from us and no one near me want more guppies.

Same here I need a new strain of guppies! but my guppies ate my shrimp, over 20 of them LOL! there one day gone the next. lesson learned, do not add guppy to shrimp tank!

Are these fancy guppies? You could always sell them to your LFS or ship them to people that want them online. If they are fancies, I'd be interested in some yellow/red/orange strains.

I would not mix guppies with baby shrimp.

If you are located nearby our house, we are happy to give them to you. (Ouch!! NY to Portland)
I don't think LFS will accept fries. All the remaining juveniles are female.
Will the LFS usually accept only females?
