I've seen people feed thier guppies and thier guppy fry sliced cucumber. Any comments on this?
Is it like a treat? Is it really healthy? recommended?

My guppies do not even touch cucumber. But for those that do feed cucumber, I would think of it more as a treat than a meal. I do feed by guppies de-thawed green peas though. It helps with bloating and constipation. ;)

I've tried feeling very thin slivers of it to tetras, platies and the like and they pick at it, not too enthusiastically. Cucumber is mostly water so it's not very nutritious, but does give them roughage...and if they like it, it's fine as a treat.

oohh this is interesting. i went to youtube and i was looking at fry vids and i saw someone feeding they're fry a thinly sliced cucumber on a toothpick and they were going crazy over it

Never heard of someone using these, but if they ate it seems like it would be good as another food to add variety to their diet.

how would i cook this zucchini??

You "blanch it" which means you take a pot of boiling water, once its boiling, drop the piece of zucchini in. You only want to cook it until it starts to get soft. Take it out, cool it and drop it in the tank. My guppies won't touch zucchini or cucumber. They do like peas though. :duh:

I boil my Zucchini until it is soft. You may want to try a variety of veggies, I feed peas, broccoli, carrot, zucchini, yellow squash, and romaine lettuce regularly. You can either cut it into bite-sized pieces or get a veggie clip and let the fish graze on it. Don't give up if your fish doesn't like a certain veggie, all fish have different tastes so try a variety.
