I have collected quite a few different colors of guppies in my livebearing tank. Is it better to stick with similar colored guppies? Like all yellows etc, or will the offspring still be really beautiful but random? I have yellow, yellow sunset, black, orange, blue, and orange tuxedo. I'm thinking I'll have a hodgepodge of colors in the offspring. Thanks!

It's really hard to predict what the offspring will look like because of how much guppies have been bred through the years. It's going to be pretty random no matter what you do so I say go for an assortment...
I say go for an assortment too. I've got blue diamond and tequila sunrise guppies and some of the babies are beautiful.

They most likely won't breed true to the colors you get them. Usually, if allowed to breed unchecked, they will mysteriously change into another strain.

Coloration in guppies is not random. It can seem like that when one breeds unknown genetics to unknown genetics. Even when one knows some, the mix of colors can still seem random. Many colors won't be shown fully without testosterone. Others are linked to the X or the Y chormosomes. Some are dominate over others.
There is also several layers of color and types of color in a guppy.
Understanding coloration makes it a challenge to breed guppies that look like you want them to.
Nothing wrong with just letting guppies mix and breed. Just the result is quite consistent, you get a guppy in a few generations that looks very much like a wild guppy in size and coloration.
