Went home today for lunch and my guppy finally had her fry. I had her in a fry trap, and there was about 2-30 little buggers in the bottom. It still looked like she had some in her, so I emptied the fry into a fry net. I then put the female back in the trap. Within 5 minutes she was dropping again. There where 2 more in there before I left.
Is it easy to raise these fry? I have never tryed raising these fish. I am just raising them for feeder fish, but it still is exciting to watch mother nature. I put in some fry food that I had from the fish store. It is real fine like a powder. How long will it take for these fish to mature? Thanks

Once netted, they are pretty easy to keep alive.
Give them 30 days until they are big enough to "not" be a meal for someone else. Some grow faster. I've released a few after 2 weeks....both fast developing males.

Keep in mind, they need more feedings than a normal fish & their water in the net is more susceptible to building up toxins, so you've got to rinse it a couple times per day.

well guppies sexually mature around 4-6 weeks, with occasional fast developers in the bunch. i have 15 right now for about 5 days soon to be 6 and they're about 1cm in length. all u really have to do is give them clean water, BBS as i find mine love them, and keep giving them that powdered food, but i suggest giving them a little of that first then putting BBS in afterwards, their bowels don't run as fast if it's just straight BBS in their little bellies (they poo slower). Some people feed their fry 5-8 times a day, but be careful to not cloud up the water with excess food feed in small amounts and you will notice when they start to lose interest or take the food in and spit it out-normally means they're full.
