guppy life span

Do be aware of the fact that sometime the guppies you get from LFS just aren't particularly robust. I've come to the conclusion that guppies really aren't tolerant of even slightly changing water conditions - I got a load from my Uncle out of which half promptly turned tail up despite my having spot on parameters. From the remainders I had lots of offspring who are perfectly happy - but their parents don't do so well.

Some of my guppies are still going strong 3 1/2 years on by the way (so that 2 years can sometimes be increased upon as with any animal!)

actually ripples you probably have a well-going tank because the average life span is 2 yrs, so that means it can go a little over 2 or maybe even just one.

Holly one reason i could think that the one guppy you had wasnt doing good is because some fish when they experience a death they might not eat for a while so you should get them a mate quick and keep in that QT because it could also be the fish or it might be something else
and actually the fish you get from stores are about 1 yr old because i have had some baby guppies and most of them still dont look like the ones at the store and ive had them for 4 months i know thats not alot but they only starting to look like adults almost but if you really want some guppies i might be able to give you these rainbow looking guppies they are awesome and i got lucky and got two
they have two spots on them one almost where there head is and the other at the fin its colors are light green blue red and i think purple but i cant see it too well because it hasnt come in all the way
