I would say overnight it gets to 78-82

I also balanced out my PH which was high.

This is my next guess at the problem... What is the ph normally and what are you doing to "balance it out"? If you are adding something to alter the ph, then do a water change and it changes drastically, going right back to what it is out of the tap, this can cause problems.
