Not to mention goldies and guppies have different water requirements......and goldies get HUGE, especially when compaired to a 2" guppy!!!!!

well you can go with out heat with guppies, i have done it be for and never had a problem. so you could do it if you really wanted to...goldfish are to big+ guppies are small= food, but if your goldfish are small, still babies it might work..
guppies like warm water and goldfish like colder water
How big is the tank? And how big are the Gold fish?

Very true. Gold Fish will get big and eat the guppies, pretty much no matter what size they are at.
