Guppys and Neons? WIll they mix??

A 37g with 28 neons and a handful of guppies sounds pretty neat. Both species have very different personalities, so it would be interesting to see them interact. Make sure to keep 1:3 male:female ratio for the guppies, otherwise, the males can get nippy. And neons would be helpless to a bully. (Although, I can't imagine a bully guppy being anything more than an annoyance. He wouldn't hurt them.) Also, guppies, like platies, are pigs at feeding time. They'll hog all the food at the surface of the water, so you might try to find a food that is made for mid-water feeders also.

Only time I lost a platy was when a gang of three orange guppies killed it. Then they turned and killed the black guppy.

No more guppies for me.

I've two adult platies and five babies and they co-exist with my neons, glo-lites, rainbows (daddy platy schools with the rainbows), otos, loaches, and shrimp.

Rogue gangs of guppies could be a problem, yes. I guess any city could have intermittent gang activity.

i've kep platies. Very nice and calm fish. They are hardy too. I lost them all when I placed then in the same tank as my clown knife. I thought they were big enough but the knife showed how big his monuth could open. :(
