Had a sad day

I just caught this thread Blinky. I will certainly pray for your aunt, you and your family.

I am so sorry your family is going through this difficult time... and to everyone that has experienced similar pain. Take care of one another.

Thank you so much.
I still haven't seen her - she's in intensive care, and they have a list of people permitted to see her over the next few days (my uncle and one other person ATM, I believe). My parents are fighting to be able to see her tomorrow. The doctors have said she's breathing easier, and seems more comfortable. She's completely sedated and will be for the next five days or so. If she is sufficiently stable at the end of the week they'll be transferring her to a hospital here in Toronto that specializes in cancer treatment. Once she's there, she'll be able to have visitors but it sounds like for now I have to wait. I'm just incredibly thankful she's still with us.

Very sorry about this situation......

:-(

Sorry for the rough time...

One thought--if just one person can go in, have everyone else write notes and cards that person can take in with them and read to her. Not the same as actually getting to visit, but it will let her know you are all thinking of her and wishing her the best, and let you tell her the things you want her to hear.

OG, that's a really great idea, I hadn't thought of that. It would be nice for her to have that when she wakes up.
The docs say she's still fighting, it's pretty amazing. She's wired to a lot of machines, intibated and completely sedated, but last time I spoke to my uncle she was resting more comfortably and though she's not doing too well, she doesn't seem to be getting worse either. I'm praying she'll get the rest she needs to recover enough so they can transfer her to Princess Margaret and treat the cancer - right now they're just working on getting her stable.
