I woke to a puddle in the middle of my living room.:eek3: My wife came in waking me saying the tank was leaking. When I got out there to look at the tank I found the it was leaking from the bottom of it. I have no idea what cause it, but it had held water for over three months with no issues if not longer.:wall: So while my wife was panic about all of the water every where. I was only worried about one thing, My Fish. So the first thing I did was to get a bucket, siphon, so water in the bucket, then start getting the fish out of the tank. It took me over 15 minutes to get all of the fish out of the tank. I could not get the algae eaters cause the just blended into the substrate. While I was catching the fish I also had my python sucking the water out of my tank. Once I got the tank empty, I took all of the gravel out of the tank put it a 5 gallon bucket sealed the bucket to make sure the gravel would be ready to go back into a tank. While to make a long story short I ended having to buy a new 55g tank along with a new stand. But the good news is so far all the fish are doing fine. We had a little scare with one of my peacocks, as he was stressed to the point of him just floating in the bucket, I very quickly moved him to a ten gallon tank so he could start calming down. But he was doing great this morning. :headbang2:

Sorry to hear that! i dealt with the same thing a few months back... but we had just set it up and bought 80 dollars worth of fish THAT DAY... that night at 1:30am we woke up to the filters screaming cause the tank was already half emptied onto our carpet. Whatta disaster!! i feel your pain :(

I hope you didnt lose any fish in this problem, but it was not fun to clean up I know that.
