i just bought one of those hagen CO2 injectors thats just like a yeast reactor, no pressurized CO2 or anything. well i was under the impression that that bubles should get smaller and smaller by the time they get to the top, they dont seem to shrink much of any, then they get to the top and just float up, is htis how everyone elses works as well?

I have 2 of these on my 30g and they will do that for a while. The ladder needs a slime coat to attach and then the bubbles run freely. Mine get tiny by the top. I usually clean ladders alternatively but to be honest I have only had to do that once during an algae break out.
Don't bother buying the refils use 1/4 teaspoon yeast, same ammount of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon bicarb - works for me for about 6 weeks. You might need to tweak yr recipe a bit.

How long has it been setup for? I had a problem the first few days with the bubbles not getting smaller for the first few days, then about the 3rd day and on...so far, I've had no further problems and the bubbles are about a 1/4th of the size when they hit the top.
ohok mines only been set up for about 15 hrs, anoher question i have is how spaced apart are the bubbles supposed to be? like how many seconds? i never have 2 on th ladder at one time
then I think it should be fine with not too many bubbles.
pressurized systems often just let the bubbles go straight up out of the water, so the water doesn't absorb a lot of the C02. but with the hagen system, I think most of the C02 gets used, so you don't need as many bubbles!

I had a hagen system on my 55gal tank, I quite using the bottle they gave me and started using a 2L pop bottle, which works quite nicely. I would recommend the switch if your tank is extreemly heavily planted, otherwise their bottle is fine.

well currently i have about a 1 minute and 10 seconds between bubbles, that seems a lil to far spaced to me
i had the same experience with my Hagen ladder...after it slimed up the bubbles do get smaller as they get to the top. I don't have the Hagen reactor, I just use two-two litre juice jugs with yeast, sugar, H2O and a bit of baking soda. I hook them up with a T connector, and then a check valve. Sometimes the mixtures take time to get going....since I started to inject CO2 into my tank (33 gal) I have had to tinker with things to see what works best. Right now the mix that I have is sending out a trail of bubbles about 1 every 1 or 2 seconds, they are very tiny bubbles when they reach the top. The key in having a planted tank is patience, much patience !!
