Hagen Elite Sponge Filter

I just got one of these little dudes to put in my second 55. That way I would have a small cycled filter in case of the need to quarantine a fish. However, this little thing is NOISY! Bubbles blowing out the top of the return making a ton of racket. Is that normal or am I not doing something right?

If you mean this one.
I have it aswell and it was and has always been noisy. If i were you take it back and get a fluval 2+ internal filter as its big but its good and nice and quiet.

Is there a place where you can turn off the Venturi? If so, do that. You are probably hearing the sound of air mixing with the water when it hits the impeller.

I just installed 2 of these in my tank. I know what you are talking about. Remove the adjustable outtake toob so the bubbles shoot straight up instead out the water lvl.
