Non-City water
1tsb of baking soda, epsum salt, and aquarium salt per 5 gal.
Lava rock (pre washed)
regular aquarium gravel (pre washed)

That's it. The tank is 2 months old and this happened:

This was my 1st Ph test for the tank.

What's up?

do you have a lower ph test? maybe its below 8.0. or it could be that you added way too much baking soda and now its off the charts.

you could also take it to a LFS and have them test it.they might have better range ph test kits. Of know what went wrong.

Sorry i can't help more

My low-range ph test in my kit always turned out as blue as it could be, only my water was 6.8. Go to their website and send them an e-mail. They are very helpful and may have some ideas. I ended up having to send my whole kit back to them for a replacement.
