As the title says could this be the cause of my hair algae problem? I took out the big bubble wand I had in the back of my aquarium because there was tons of hair algae on it.
why do you have a bubble wand? No need in a marine tank for one.
I might be wrong, just learning the ins and outs despite never having issues with hair algae in my 3 years of the marine tank world, but isn't that an issue of water quality?
Usually, hair algae is a result of excess nutrients. Meaning you have high phosphates or nitrates. How often do you do water changes? What are you using as source water? RO or tap? How old is your tank? Overfeeding could also be an issue. What are your current water parameters?
