I am halfway through a fishless cycle on a FW tank. Can I swith to marine and not kill of the fledgling bacteria colonies?

What about if I bring the salinity up very slowly?

Trying to avoid having to drop big bucks on live rock...hard enough explaining all the tank/filter/ purchases to the wife. Nevermind another hundred or so bucks on rock.

"You paid how much... for a bunch of rocks? Rocks aren't alive dummy!"

What is in the tank regards substrate and decor?

No decor yet. Tank is empty with the exception of two nylon bags full of seasoned gravel (estimating between 5-7 pounds) from an established FW tank. Filter is a Whisper 60 (new media) and also have a Zoom pivot head powerhead in with new sponge pre-filter.

I do have two bags of Seachem Grey Coast substrate that I got (that started this whole idea). Would this be of any cycling assistance?

According to your sig it looks like you have a 75g that is currently empty. Why don't you just make that into a SW. :) That sounds like a good starter size.

if you dump out the water and star over you can get cured LR and LS and cut down your cycling to about a week 2 week max.
