Hand feeding

My damsel won't let me hand feed him or her now, but will he/she get used to it and accept the food?

hand feeding is fun, i have hand fed my fw fish for ages

i have a clown and a damsel and am in the process of getting them to eat from my hand.. they are still a little scared but getting better.

and no it doesnt hurt, they have pretty small mouths and teeth, and they eat small things. feeding a moray would be a bit scary though!

i usually antibacterialise my hands before putting them in the water (a bit extreme, but you never know..) of course make sure all the soap is washed off and try to avoid drying hands on a towel before putting in the tank, there will be pieces of fluff in the water otherwise... i'm very protective of my fishies!

i would not use any antibacteria solution on the hands before putting them in the tank..Antibacteria solution sticks in the grains of the skin, even after washing with cold water. that is the nature of antibacteria cleaner to stick to the grains in the skin where as soaps are designed to be washed off with running water...

just an opinion of course

Soap is antibacterial anyway. No need to use extra stuff. Antimicrobial is a different story.
