What do your fish do when you put your hand in your fish tank?
I cleaned my hands really good and washed all soap off (for like...5 minutes lol) then just let my hand lie limp in the tank. My fish (male betta, three female bettas, five guppies) acted like my hand was a play ground, they went through my fingers and swam around it. I thought they would dart away, but we have obviously bonded :D! lol, what about you? Try it. Wash and rinse your hands good though! Dont want to kill your fish.

my angels want to play with my fingers, so do the rams, the fire mouth is not so apt to come now, he did when he was younger.

When I hand feed my ADFs my guppies have a little fun! They just come right up to my hand and ram into it! Sometimes they think it's food and try to eat it. The first time it happened I was freaked out.

they all swim away from my hand, with the exception of my snail (which would rather hide in its shell), betta (which likes to follow me around as i clean) and my otos (who are newcomers to the tank, but are no less afraid of my hand)

when I'm cleaning the gravel the neons sometimes tug on my arm hairs... I used to have swordtails that would really go nuts for arm hair.

Many years ago I was in a pet store watching a girl clean the glass in a snakehead tank. For those unfamiliar, a snakehead is basically a big mouth of sharp teeth with a tail... This thing was probably 18" long or so, and started to eyeball this girl's hand. It was a chain pet store (Noah's Ark?) and I'm not sure that the girl really knew what she was doing...she knew enough to be scared though (as did her manager who supervised while she worked). The manager suggested she stop and put 6 or so feeder goldfish in the tank before continuing...Feeding frenzy! Goldfish didn't stand a chance...This thing went nuts (snap...bubbles, and goldfish gone). The girl then continued nervously cleaning the tank. Snakehead didn't get her while I watched, but it was pretty cool to watch as a kid.

Snakeheads aren't legal in Illinois anymore, but I can attest to what they could do when hands are in the tank (probably not swimming gently between your fingers though).:)

my guppys I used to have would folllow my hand around during tank cleaning, one decided it would be cool to swim up the siphon, but it didnt get sucked up cause it was a strong enough swimmer
