hang on back filter with plants....

is it ok to use a hang on back filter in a planted aquarium. i am currently using an emporer 280 ( it think its a 280 anyway) and a fluval 304 cannister filter. should i just get rid of the h.o.b. or can i continue to use both?

You can use one or the other or both...I use both

HOBs work well in a planted aqaurium, the only drawback is that it might out-gas CO2 faster than normal if you're injecting CO2 in the first place.

im not injecting c02 as of now but i was thinking about it. without injectin c02 willl there be any problems with c02 levels in the tank?

I use HOB's in alot of my low tech planted tanks.

both wont hurt. if you going to use co2 make sure to keep it topped off.
