happening agian!

well everything has gone back to normal in my tank! i don't get it if it was agression than why did all of them die of last time? the torn up fins looked exactly the way they did before

It may be that they have calmed down a little because the pair are out of their breeding cycle, when my pair would lay eggs, they would do so about once every 3 weeks.

Maybe your pairs are in the middle of that cycle and so much calmer, the other fish may have died last time because the pair could have been more aggressive, the other fish might have been weaker, or the fighting went on longer etc. No real way to tell.

I have several breeding pairs. unfortunately they can be very aggressive.

hard to say why all died but it is possible the stress may have led to an infection .

all the fish will stress. attacker is not immune as the targets will fight back.

if you do not remove the problem or if the target continues to fight back then all the fish may be prone to extreme stress.

it is possible to have several dominant males in the tank and females that fight.

in one tank (55g) I have 2 breeding pairs.. when they spawn.. they will fight.. when not spawning they actually are quite calm.

the cycle can vary dependent on time of year but spawn cycles can occur every 2-3 weeks,. with clam between cycles.

well is's all calm now so as much as i want a breeding pair, i hope it stays that way for awhile cuz i don't wanna go trading my zebra in he has so much personality!
