Hi guys

How do I keep my Clown Loaches happiest ?
At one point I had about 5 of them in my 55G - now I am left with just 2 for quite sometime now - they seem to be doing pretty well and growing too - just want to make sure that I am providing them all they need to be at their best.
I feed them Tetra bits and Spirulina Sinking tablets.
The other inhabitants of my tank are other loaches like Kuhli, Black Kuhli, Striped, Tiger, YoYo, Hillstream and a few Serpae Tetras.

Please help

You could add more variety to their diet........

I feed my clowns (and all my other fish too) the following:

Cucumber
Leaves of fresh lettuce
shrimp pellets
spirulina tablets
wardley spectramax flake food
dishi color enhancing pellets
frozen blood worms
live brine shrimp*
cocktail shrimp*

*(only once in a while)

Also, I've heard of clowns doing great in pairs or small groups of 3, but I prefer slightly larger numbers and I think the clowns do too. I currently have 5 and plan to get 2-3 more this weekend.

A good spacious hiding spot where all the clowns can sleep side by side will also make them happier.

just got three clowns and one orange fin loach a few days ago as was wondering how long it takes for them to acclamate to eating zucchini slices. I put the slices in yesterday and I dont think they have found them yet.

Also all four loaches seem to hide in an ornamental cave most of the day especially the orange fin loach who I NEVER SEE during the day....

if you add a clove of crushed/stabbed garlic to the water (that you blanch your veggies in) as it heats up and boils, it may attract them more b/c it's an appetite stimulant. my plecos ignored zucchini, but after i gave it to them only a couple of times using garlic in the water, they jump on it and don't need the extra incentive.
