Congrats! Beautiful fish and tank. I will agree that discus don't need a slate or a cone to spawn on. Mine spawn on the side of the tank or uptake tube of the hob filter. I bought a cone and placed in the tank and they spawned on it twice and promptly went back to the tube of the hob filter. So as far as customer satisfaction goes, they gave the cone two fins down.
