hi i was just wondering if i could put hard corals in my tank for eg. sea fans etc. if i dont have those expensive lights. all i have are two powerful flusocent lights (power glow) and one blue light.

Personally, i would not...I am a firm believer that hard corals should have pretty good lighting, and i would only recomend them with either a T5 or Halide fixture..However, not all peoples opinions are the same..But, that is mine....

SPS need specific lighting, so I wouldn't expect one to live under powerglows. Sea Fan's aren't SPS corals, they're more like a soft coral. Some are non photosynth. and you would need to target feed them daily.

ehh you can keep lps under vho pc's or t5's and they will do fine but not under NO bulbs. Sps i would prolly only go with MH or maybe t5 in a shallow tank

hard corals.... havent specified if you are looking for ANY calcerous corals or just sps like most peopel assumed... so...
the only LPS that i would keep under NO lighting are some nonphotosynthetic ones such as sun corals. each polyp shoudl be fed raw, meaty seafood every few days.
as far as gorgonians (sea fans): there are some non photosynthetic species. most of them needs lots of micro food though, so unless you have good filtration and are sure you are goign to keep up with feedings, i wouldnt try it.
